How It Works

Traditional in-person tutoring has its limitations. Due to time restraints of usable workspaces, travel time, and unexpected schedule conflicts, the effectiveness and needed consistency can be lost. Online tutoring provides the necessary flexibility and is an amazing educational support when it is tailored to a student’s needs and goals. Where traditional tutoring may include textbooks, worksheets, and loose papers, virtual tutoring allows for interactive tools and a more organized work product.

Most in-person tutoring occurs right after school before the teacher leaves work or before the business day ends. Online tutoring can be set at times when it works best for you. After practice, before the bus comes, the weekend before a big test, we accommodate them all!

With Math Virtual Tutor, a link is provided upon booking and then the student simply joins the live Zoom session at the scheduled time. In this video conferencing platform, the student and tutor are able to share files, collaborate on documents, and work together in real-time just as they would in-person. Zoom is easy to use and can be accessed with a variety of devices.

FAQs

Is tutoring right for me?

Yes! Every student can benefit from private tutoring. Tutoring is especially helpful for students who:

  • have busy schedules
  • need one-on-one help
  • have high-reaching goals
  • learn in a unique way
  • have test anxiety
  • are easily distracted

Is tutoring worth the investment?

Absolutely. Tutoring may be what your child needs to make the cutoff GPA for their dream school. It may prevent failing or having to retake courses. It truly is one of the most worthwhile investments.

How much do you charge?

Please see the Booking page.

What times can you tutor? Are you available on the weekend?

Yes, I tutor on the weekend, as well as during the workweek. My time is flexible and my availability changes often. Usually we can find a convenient time that works for both of us.

How does online tutoring work? Is it as effective as in-person tutoring?

The one-on-one tutoring sessions occur via Zoom. Through screen-sharing, an interactive whiteboard, chat, video, and audio, the student and tutor are able to work together in real-time. Students simply need a computer with a microphone and an internet connection. With the proper experience and training, online tutoring is just as effective as in-person tutoring with added flexibility.

How do I set up a session?
